Announcing my forum retirement

6000 posts

Today I hit 6000 posts in the XNA forums and for now that's it...

Posting in the forums is fun but I am spending far too much time in there. Heck I quit Microsoft to write games and so far the only ones I've completed are the starter kits for Microsoft.

Posting in forums and being the top poster gets to be a bit of an addiction too. I find myself wondering if I've got the unread post count down to zero instead of doing productive things.

In 603 days I've posted 6000 times (and edited those darn FAQs so many I have lost count) and read over 50,000 threads (over 100,000 posts in those threads).

I've tried backing off my usage occasionally but it never really sticks so I decided to go cold turkey and 6000 posts seemed as good a time as any. (plus I'm about 1000 in front of the next guys)

Like all great retirement announcements you know I will be back but I have a big list of other things I want to do before then.

the end of an era ... who will chastise the noobs who don't read the FAQs now? :-P

but seriously ... can't wait to see what you come up with :-)

Hey, I might have a chance to move up to the #3 spot now! :D

I'm wondering if one of the items on that big list of things might be an actual XBLCG game.

Thanks for all of your insights.  I've been following your posts since the good old Managed DirectX days.  You have always had a good perspective and provided very useful comments.  Best wishes.

Go on and start doing things you have on that list. Have fun, and make great games.

Just pop in and see what happens without you... you'll be back....   btw, why does spritebatch mess up my models?
